Makenzie MeltonAge 9, Grade 3El Dorado Springs, R-2 SchoolsEl Dorado Springs, Missouri

Doodle 4 google theme for this year was :
If I Could Do Anything, I Would…..

Makenzie chose this doodle because the rainforest is in danger and it is not fair to the plants and animals. She loves everything except spiders and snakes, but would still save them :)

Doodle Winner 2009

Doodle 4 Google contest was held this year around the intriguing theme "What I Wish for the World."
Christin Engelberth, a sixth grader at Bernard Harris Middle School in San Antonio, Texas has won the Doodle 4 Google contest this year. She titled her doodle “A New Beginning”.
I remember voting for this title. Did I???
I think yes. Because when I first saw this doodle, it reminded me Darwin’s “Theory of Evolution”.
But christin created this doodle to express her wish that "out of the current crisis, discoveries will be found to help the Earth prosper once more."

When I read the title, the child in me had this thought …..Hey I have drawn enough on this slate…
Ok..lemme erase everything and make fresh drawings..:)
Isn't it nice?

Raffle tickets draw

Cardinals are going to play super bowl. People here are cheering them in all possible ways.
My work place is not an exception either. We got a mail that the dress code is relaxed till feb 1st. We are free enough to show up on jerseys or anything supporting cardinals and can hang posters in our cubes.

There was a barbeque lunch arranged today for celebrating the upcoming super bowl. There was this lottery event where they were selling raffle tickets. Prize money was declared for winners and few non-cash gifts for some. We have been getting emails for last few days….
All of a sudden, half an hour before the draw time, I planned to purchase a raffle ticket.
To my surprise, I won a cardinals pennant . :))

Note: For those of you who don't know about cardinals , here you go:

The Arizona Cardinals, founded in 1898 and a charter member of the National Football League, hold the distinction of being the oldest continuously run professional American football, club in the US.

Santa - Funtoon

It’s nice to see Christmas decorations everywhere. Glowing lamps in different colors, lot of posters, bells, trees, gifts, candies & the list goes on………….. At work, its fun to watch people playing secret Santa. It reminds me the “chris mom chris child” kind of games that we played during school and college days.

Today some of us wore a santa cap like the one I have painted and took pictures........... :-)

Stepping on the golden post

It has been a great pleasure writing here for the past two years. Now am there writing my
50th post.

Man is a perverse creature. He is very stubborn on many things and also very emotional in many aspects. So it’s a kind of unbalanced emotions that most of them have. To have neutral, balanced emotions comes from extensive practice put into actions. Can we call all those who have controlled emotions as saints? Or yogis?
Well, it’s a stage attained in enjoying and understanding the life in minuscule level. They know the granular level details of the lesson called life.

The difference I have read in the yogis and the normal people is expression of thoughts. Yogis know how to enjoy the essence of life without impacting others. But the normal person reacts for every action in life and has an outcome called action, there by demonstrating Newton’s 3rd law every now and then.

But I am a normal person. Enjoy every moment of life by expressing my views. Hence landed up into this blogging world. So far I have written on varied topics mostly of my interests. Here I have grumbled and crumbled sometimes. I have tried funtoons and it was fun trying it out. Revived my passion for hindi. Started a new blogspace for my paintings. Sometimes posts on tribute to my teachers, mangers by whom I was inspired, glimpse of joys, racking pain. After my school days, I found this as a very good medium where I could live with my interests. School days are wonderful period for anyone. I loved my schooldays too.

This blog is full of life. I have put many things across wherever I can. Like butterflies, balloons, sunflowers, lavender flowers, smileys, stars, sunlight kisses, rain drops. Sometimes the dream world could be very unrealistic with all that we like, so as this blog world is like I have put all that I cherish.
Smiles are the testimonies to the fact that one enjoys every moment of life. The exquisite life calls me to write more and more about all that I perceive out of it.
I have no shy in writing or expressing that I still like crunching the dried leaves fallen all over. The sound that comes out of crumpling is a kind of enjoyment. I feel happier and feel happy when others enjoy doing it too. Whistling a music, bursting the bubbled cover, blowing a bubble gum, music from guitar, eating caramel pop corn, sipping vanilla latte, still buying crayons, making dolls out of candy wrappers, dora cartoons.
Man! So many things to enjoy in life.

Believe me the fear of death and the rim of death are really awkward and are part of life. So there may not be next minute. Doesn’t mean one has to compromise on beliefs and principles. Before one gets into those chapters, it’s wise to enjoy as much as one can without crucifixions.

“It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure”-
Albert Einstein

Precisely I am a person who call music as a real music and not anything else J
All the more it makes me happy writing here.

Google – V’day Logo

I am so interested in admiring the Google logo daily. Dennis Hwang is brilliant in depicting the importance of a day in terms of logo itself.

Today is a V’day special. I was quite impressed by the logo. It meant so much for me.
Oldies walking together with a walking stick and a rose in hand.

The idea of depicting old people together meant the depth of love. Walking together to enjoy the lovely sky depicts the happiness they must be having.

Don't you feel so?
Smilie smiles:)

Chiming Celebrations

From mid june on ,it was celebrations at home. All at home were waiting for one such moment in the family. When six months before anna got engaged, work at office was still hectic. I found I am missing the real fun that life offers me when I cannot devote time to enjoy them. But then as I have heard time changes and only thing constant in the world is a change, I realized life could tilt at any angle. The work pressure got subsided and I had enough time to shop for anna's wedding. Weekends were a bliss enough for preparations for the awaited moment.

I bought two saris. One was perips and perims gift for anna's wedding and the other one was what I had planned to buy for a long time. I bought a tussar silk in a deep maroonish brown color with lot of crystal embellishments on it. I found it to be pretty interesting as it suited my taste. It really looked very elegant when I wore it. It gave a very soothing look, could be worn for a part as well as for a wedding occasion. The other was a dark violet colored georgette sari with kundan worked on it. I was nostalgic when I found that colored
sari and typically the way I wanted the sari to be ,in Kumaran. I have a profound belief on Kumaran's collections that I would for sure end up with satisfaction when I buy a sari there. I then bought some accessories suiting the saris. I generally prefer simple chokers with cute little pearls hanging from them.

Amma was insisting to plan our costumes for the wedding from one week before hand. The funny part here is anna himself bought his suit and blazer for the occasion just 3-4 days before. Anyways where were we? Okay, then I decided to wear my silk sari for the viradham on the first day that perims and perips had gifted for akka's wedding. kundan worked sari for the reception in the evening. The tussar silk on the next day for muhurtham.

Then it was on the day before marriage when we all gathered at perips place.
We prayed the almighty for his blessings for glorious success. There was a hearty welcome from the bride’s party. The viradham went on well. Tamil Brahmin marriage is known for its kalyana sappadu and a lively celebration. The cateres did their best. I dressed up like a gujju for the reception party. There was a beautiful buffet arrangement in the lawn. The crowd enjoyed eating the dinner. The next day was the most awaited day. Kasi yatrai, oonjal followed by muhurtham when anna tied knots. There was Anandha kanneer in everyone’s eyes. Then it was nalangu in the evening. The next day was kattu sadhai koodai which was mean to distribute the packed food for the people who would become tired after a three days celebration.

The happy moments are chiming:)
