I know a person who was recently laid off from his organization.
He is a very experienced person and is paid huge. The management told him
that he is an expensive resource and hence they cannot afford to pay him.
He worked hard for the company and has seen many successes. A farewell party was arranged for him. His manager praised him for his efforts in the party and asked him to
give a speech about what he feels about the company. He hardly spoke something.
Obviously when a person is with so much of grief about being laid off and finding very tough to get a new job matching his experience and salary, can surely not talk with happiness even when honored. On his last day he wrote an email to everyone saying that he was waiting for the day to leave the company and his dreams came true.

I wonder two things about this. The farewell party is a convention that’s followed in any organization. Be it the employee quits by himself or him being laid off. In this case when he is being laid off, it’s really ridiculous that the company expects him to share his happiness about his tenure in the company.

The second thing is the person was a contractor and also wishes to remain as a contractor.
He wants to earn more and doesn’t want to fit into the rules and regulations of a company. He very well knew that one would be laid off any point of time being a contractor. Knowing the outcome, there is no point that he can feel bad about his situation. Even now he doesn’t want to become permanent employee somewhere.
I feel he cannot blame the company. Writing a last day email saying that he dreamt to leave the company was like absolutely showing his anger to the people.

At some point there is a attitude problem everywhere.

Disclaimer: I haven’t concluded anything about the person or his company here.
I have just shared a scenario that commonly happens.

Funtoon2

I was watching Mozhi film again. Pleasant movie.
Prithviraj says to prakash raj that bells rang and bulb glowed when he first saw jyothika :)
Does my funtoon depict it??

Wrong Window

She was working in a very busy project. Her company had an internal messenger for
communication with coworkers. Her lead was a very submissive person and always
wanted to be over productive. The result was, she was dumped with work always.
They communicated only through the internal messenger. Simultaneously there were lot other people with whom she was coordinating with. She had the habit of informing everything to one of her close friend cum coworker. She used to crib about being dumped
with work. The internal messenger was a single window with multiple tabs. It was that day when she was very frustrated about her lead and was fuming and wanted to tell her friend. She scolded her lead as much as possible to console herself. To her dismay she found that she wrote everything about her lead to him thinking that she was writing to her friend.

Gosh! It was wrong window she screamed and went running to her leads desk. Luckily he was in a meeting and she closed his messenger.
