That's life

X had applied for an important document. She was told that she would get it in 2 weeks of time. She eagerly went to the mail room every day to check if she got it. To her dismay 2 weeks passed by soon. She did not receive it at the end of 2 weeks. She waited for a week more. It was in vein. She went to the office and checked the status. She was told that it was mailed 1 month back and they were not sure what happened to the document. She was shattered and immediately asked for a duplicate. This time she waited till 1 week and again went to the mail room daily. She was literally vexed and did not know what next to do. One day, she came little late from her work and found the document on the table. It was a profound joyous feeling for her. That was the day she stopped going to the mail room. She forgot the mental agony that was there and also forgot whom all she approached to solve the mystery. That’s life.

He completed his bachelors and was hunting for a job. The hunt was not all that easy. Anywhere he went, there was a tough competition. He was sure he gave his best everywhere. He did enough preparation each and every time he went for an interview.
The disappointment grew stronger and the confidence was getting lower. But his efforts remained same. It was one final day when his dream came true. He succeeded amidst a tough competition. He pinched himself to realize if it was reality. He was so happy to start with his work. As days went by he found better opportunities. His career did not stop there. That’s life.

X was scared what is she going to do when her roommate is going to vacate. She was scared to stay alone. It was almost very sure that she was to take necessary actions to face when it comes to that point. It was not all that easy to surrender everything in a week’s time. She was enquiring so many people if they could accommodate her stay. Some were kind enough to accommodate her. X was bit convinced that some how she can manage until the time that she is going to stay in that place. Her roommate called her one evening that her stay is going to be extended. X was quite relieved and informed those who gave her confidence. What seemed like a storm passed by like a tide. That’s life.

P.S: The idea of the post was to present the short stories collectively like "the legend" Balachander's Jennal

Balloons & Butterflies

It was 3:30 P.M and the school bell rang. He came along with his classmates to buy handful of ber for 50 paisa. A 2 rupee coin was lying down. He immediately took it in his hands and put in his pocket before his friends noticed. There were thousands of plan that ransacked his mind. It was long time since he had the kuchi ice. He wanted to try the pink colored one this time. Then it stroked him to buy two caramel chocolate. One for him and the other for his sister. But he was asked to submit a project in social studies the next day. He already completed it and was left out with decoration of the book. He then thought he could buy a blue colored glass paper instead of the chocolate as he wanted to get appreciations. While he thought about all this, he also felt as if he was carrying a cactus with him. He reached his home and it was time to go to the temple near by. Daily he went there before he started with his home work. He had inculcated good values from his mother. The 2 rupee was dropped in the temple hundi. He felt he was holding balloons and he felt his heart like a garden with beautiful butterflies flying.

WoW Woman

Astro science says Venus reaches its maximum brightness shortly before sunrise or shortly after sunset, for which reason it is often called the Morning Star or the Evening Star.
They also say Women are from Venus .Goes without saying they are the brightest stars.
Well there are so many instances when every woman cribs for having born as a woman.
I am not an exception. But many times I have felt women are god’s best creation. He has carefully painted her. She is a loving daughter to her father, best listener to her friends,
Understanding wife, loving mom. She takes herself in various forms and does the best in every role.

I have come across many inspiring personalities so far. To me a woman means patience, perseverance, bold, acceptance, loving, caring, brilliant, responsible, sincere and smart.
To me real beauty is how smart she is and how well she handles things.

I started my career working in a team which was handled by Ms MK. MK was the account manager then. I have admired MK for her dynamic personality. She was known for the cute smile on her face. Extremely brilliant woman. One is always guaranteed for a smooth work.
MK was known for her best planning. She used to clearly instruct the team. At the time of crisis
MK was never impulsive. She assertively conveyed the plan of action to the team and gets them executed. I was proud at those times that MK liked me the most. She gave me excellent opportunities and brought out my talent.

I admired her for the way she had a work life balance. I have never seen her carrying work pressure to home and vice versa. I learnt from her how much she cared for her family and how she managed to be successful at work also. She identified a best project for me and wanted me to work in that. I remember the day when I told her about my dream project and the kind of exposure I expected. I was just a beginner in my organization then. She appreciated me for that and spoke to so many people and rightly placed me.
Without her I would not have bagged a best performer award for the year and visibility among the top management.

Today when I was rated as best performer, it reminds me the kind of excellent foundation that MK helped to get. The kind of confidence I have when it comes to delegation and the way to deal with the team members are things that I learnt from her.

I am sure MK must be director of a business unit by now. She is one of the smartest women I have come across.

Happy Women’s day readers.

Jodhaa Akbar

The movie was good overall. It’s worth watching once. But I felt I have to watch it once more so that I can remember the sequences. I wanted history, cuz I simply loved it.
But I should have gone back to my history books.
Do you get what I am saying? Yes the movie did not leave any kind of impression. At the same time I cannot say it was boring 3.5 hrs.

For some reasons, the bollywood was under an impression that sharukh and rani best suited for such roles. The convention was broken. Aishwaryaa was so gorgeous. I was awe stuck by her costume. She was like a perfect rajputh women. There cannot be anyone better than Hrithik to have acted as Akbar.
His actions were absolutely awesome. I was very much impressed by his gestures.

The Mughal era was usually described as a violent period with sword swinging and the kind of unimaginable ruthlessness towards Hinduism and its followers. But our history books never thought us the best part of Mughals. I neither went back to my history books nor did a research to find out if Akbar was originally as a person what was shown in the movie.
I even wondered if many of those were fiction.

Ashutosh Gowariker’s screenplay and direction was too good. The lingual difference between rajputh’s and mughals were brought out very well. The dialogue delivery was one aspect that made me feel to watch the movie once more.

Some scenes were really funny. The Maham Anga character was deceived. The kind of importance that was given to the character initially was in vein. Aishwaryaa learns urdu
And asks Akbar to read whatever she had written. Akbar asks her to read since he never learnt
to read/write. The entire theatre broke into laughter when we shouted “Abhishek”.
Kwaja mere song was too good. But the choreography was funny.

One should go and watch the movie to get the real essence I feel.
